In 2006, John and Bobbi Gillespie decided to share their passion for coffee when they started a coffee roasting operation adjacent to their already established Old Stone Gallery & Art School.

Having lived in Mexico for five years and experienced some of the best shade-grown coffees in the world, they decided on the name “La Sombra” (Spanish for “the shade”).

Their small-batch artisan-roasted coffee beans may be purchased inside the Old Stone Gallery or if you just want to try a cup first, visit the espresso bar.
